about stephanie

Stephanie is a professional performer, teacher and choreographer with the Goddess of the Dunes belly dance company, which she joined in 2009. She has been belly dancing since 2004 and has been trained in South Africa. Her belly dance style is classical Egyptian and she is proficient in Egyptian cabaret, Saiidi, and Turkish. She has also mastered the art of floor work, fire sticks, cane, drum solos, single and double veil, short veils, Shamadan (candelabra), Sagat (finger cymbals), Scimitar (sword), wings of Isis, and Moroccan tray.

Stephanie has been a professional performer since 2006 and has performed throughout South Africa. She has also performed in Uganda, Botswana, Greece and Morocco and for numerous corporate clients and Saudi Royalty.

how I got started

Dancing has always been Stephanie's passion and as a result the art of Oriental dance has come naturally to her, she feels it is in her blood. The sound of the music, the beat of the drum and the energy of dance flows through her and gives her great joy. Belly dancing has made her feel more confident with her body and helps her relieve stress and clear her mind. When she dances all her passion and spirit shines through, her energy and extrovert personality comes out in performances. Performing and teaching belly dance gives her an indescribable satisfaction and she is able to share and pass on her love for this amazing art form with other people.
